ECONOMY NEWS

  • Cherry Capital Airport’s January report shows passenger traffic dropped 4.7% (compared to last year), ending a series of steady increases after three record-breaking travel years. The report was presented to the Northwest Regional Airport Authority.  Traverse City Record-Eagle

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Grand Traverse County Land Bank Authority board approved $50,000 Friday for Habitat for Humanity Grand Traverse Region’s Home Repair Program — a grant to help low- to moderate-income homeowners with needed repairs. The funding will support affordable housing improvements in the community.  Traverse City Record-Eagle

SPORTS NEWS

  • Three Northern Michigan boxers aged 40+ will fly to Las Vegas to fight in a two-day Masters Boxing tournament at the Silverton Hotel + Casino. The athletes, including Jason Idziak, Jamie LeFerriere, and Mike Weitschat, will be matched by weight and experience.  9&10 News
  • Traverse Christian beat Lake Leelanau St. Mary and the Sabres will face Ellsworth in the Regionals opening round on March 3. East Jordan, Elk Rapids, Pickford, and Rudyard also won their district finals and will play in the opening round.  9&10 News
