GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Dan Zielinski—an engineer with the Great Lakes Fishery Commission—met with the Downtown Development Authority Board Friday to give an update on the $23-million-plus FishPass project along the Boardman/Ottaway River. The project will remove the old Union Street dam and build a barrier that lets good fish cross while blocking sea lamprey.  Traverse City Record-Eagle
  • Traverse City and Garfield Township officials have made progress in resolving a dispute over the township’s bulk water purchasing agreement after state regulators said four permits could safely connect new developments to the municipal water system—Garfield Township also backed the city’s plan to fix water pressure issues at Historic Barns Park.
