GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Grand Traverse County Commissioner Rob Hentschel took and passed a licensed polygraph test, his attorney told the Record-Eagle recently. Benzie County Prosecutor Sara Swanson said polygraph tests hold little value since they are not admissible in court — she relies on only evidence that can be used in court to decide charges. - ➤ East Bay Township officials are reviewing the site plans for a major expansion at Keith J. Charters State Park— they have not received all the plans yet. The state Department of Natural Resources is investing about $8.5 million to improve the park and campground that opened in 1920. Traverse City Record-Eagle
- ➤ Traverse City has imposed new weight limits on the North Union Street Bridge after an inspection found corrosion affecting heavy and commercial trucks — the city is working to secure funding for repairs planned for either this year or next. UpNorthLive
