- ➤ Two children were seriously injured in a collision that closed M-37 near Norton Road in Blair Township for more than four hours—deputies responded just before noon Sunday, according to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office. Traverse City Record-Eagle

- ➤ A 25-year-old Lewiston man allegedly held a couple at gunpoint on a hiking trail at Miller Creek Nature Reserve—he was arrested minutes later as reported by the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office. Traverse City Record-Eagle

- ➤ Antoneta Gjolaj from R. Grant Graham Elementary was named this week’s Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education winner when she received a $2,000 check from Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli. - ➤ The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is renovating Traverse City State Park and planning a new pedestrian crossing over US-31 as the current bridge nears the end of its life. East bay township will coordinate the new intersection with three traffic signals for safe crossing as the park closes for renovation on July 7—after the National Cherry Festival. 9&10 News
- ➤ The North Union Street Bridge in Traverse City now has weight limits after corrosion was found on its steel beams during a recent inspection. The posted restrictions vary by truck type and the bridge will not be repaired until the city secures funding. 9&10 News
