- ➤ Susan Odgers, a celebrated Traverse City resident who has used a wheelchair for 49 years, will mark the 50th anniversary of her paralyzing spinal stroke next month + recognizing her journey of resilience and community support. - ➤ The oldest building on Front Street was built in 1859 — it came before the City Opera House and Hannah Lay Building. It stands at the east end of a small village that once bordered a wide wilderness. Traverse City Record-Eagle
