  • Leland Library will receive a $10,000 accessibility grant from the American Library Association that will fund an ADA-compliant automatic entry door and staff training; the funds will be used this week to improve access for patrons.  Traverse City Record-Eagle

  • Northwest Educational Services will spend over $2.4 million this summer to replace the roof on the Career Tech Center and Life Skills Center on Parsons Road. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Michigan’s new child car seat laws — taking effect next week — require children under two to ride in a rear-facing seat, children 3 to 5 in a forward-facing seat with a harness, children 4 to 8 or under four feet nine in a booster seat, and children under 13 in the back seat. State police and local fire departments are offering free car seat checks to help parents follow updated height and weight guidelines.  9&10 News
