- ➤ Northwestern Michigan College hosts its 11th Annual Hero Race on Saturday, April 18 with a free fun run and 5K and 10K races starting at the Cedar Parking Lot on its main campus. Race packets are available the evening before at a pasta dinner—creativity earns awards. Traverse City Record-Eagle

- ➤ Interlochen's packed performance of Imagine US: Celebrating America at 250 featured multi-media art with dancers, video images and live music by performers including Sydney Kassekert — Yo Yo Ma also performing on cello. - ➤ Audubon.org data shows that on one day last December, Christmas Bird Count volunteers recorded 29,408 birds across 87 species from four local counts — a 29% increase from 2024. Strong community participation in birdwatching marked a busy year in our area. Traverse City Record-Eagle
