- ➤ Safe Haven received over $10,000 on April 8 from the local 100+ Women Who Care chapter at Traverse City Golf and Country Club to fund extra staff for supervising visits. The program serves 33 families and will use the funds to begin helping 30 families on its waitlist. 9&10 News
- ➤ Project Connect will be held at North Central Michigan College on April 22 with more than 70 local nonprofits offering free assistance from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents needing help with finances, housing and health are encouraged to bring required documents and visit a special section for veterans — details have been provided by organizers. 9&10 News

- ➤ Honeybee experts in Leelanau County are monitoring efforts to restore bee colonies needed for pollinating specialized local crops after national losses in 2025 reduced U.S. agricultural output by $18 billion (according to the Honeybee Health Coalition), and beekeepers plan to bring winter colonies back from Georgia for spring pollination. 9&10 News

- ➤ Work at the US-31/Three Mile Road intersection begins mid-morning today after a schedule shift, and a detour will be in effect for drivers to keep the project on track. Traverse City Record-Eagle
