EDUCATION NEWS

  • At a board meeting on April 14, the Traverse City Area Public Schools Board of Education showed plans to rebuild Central Grade School by keeping much of the front lawn, moving the main office, and adding bigger hallways for better supervision. • The Traverse City Police Department announced that enforcement of the city's no camping ordinance at The Pines on Eleventh and Division Street will begin on May 6 at 12 a.m.—the measure comes after officers have worked with residents through the Quick Response Team since fall and ahead of a public hearing on May 5 to consider amending the shelter permit. This action aims to provide a pathway for residents to access support services while upholding city policies.  9&10 News
