- ➤ Tabitha Dunlop, a Benzie County native and mother of three, became homeless at 35 and has been without a home on and off for seven years; she now sleeps at Safe Harbor. Her youngest daughter, age 9, has not been in her care since 2021 and a detailed action plan will be shared next Sunday. Traverse City Record-Eagle
- ➤ Motorists are advised that the Grand Traverse County Road Commission will begin crack-sealing work today between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Miller Road, Sparling Road, Three Mile Road, Hoch Road, Rennie School Road, Zimmerman Road, Broad Road, Dracka Road and McKinley Road—flaggers will be present and delays are expected as work is weather-dependent. - ➤ Kingsley Area Schools will ask voters on May 6th to approve a $39.2 million bond that will fund upgrades and expansions at the middle/high school and bolster instructional technology; the bond carries a millage rate of 4.90 mills for a 30-year term (with an estimated average annual millage of 4.07 mills) while the district does not plan to borrow from the state for debt service. - ➤ The Michigan Department of Transportation is asking for public input on its North Region Active Transportation Plan that will expand trails + sidewalks in 21 counties to improve safety. Feedback must be submitted by May 17. UpNorthLive
