Good morning, Traverse City. Here's your local news at a glance for Wednesday, the 23rd of April.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation gave out $684,960 to 98 local groups in five counties (the funds came from donor endowments) to support arts, education, health and youth programs, and the money will help with nonprofits’ day-to-day work (meeting routine needs).  9&10 News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Walleye eggs from the Muskegon River are hatching at the Platte River State Fish Hatchery—workers keep the young fish in tanks until they grow strong enough to be released into public waters. • At an April 21 meeting, commissioners voted 4 to 3 against an amendment that would allow police to ticket or arrest those not following the No-Camping Ordinance in parks + this decision leaves the May 6 enforcement plans for the Pines unchanged.  9&10 News
