- ➤ Munson Healthcare announced a $1.8 million investment to add 137 child care openings for its employees' children at the Foster Family Community Health Center. The expansion aims to address the area's child care access gap and support recruitment and retention efforts. Traverse City Record-Eagle

- ➤ Hallstedt Homestead is introducing its Red Truck Orchards cherry vinegar, made from whole cherries through a unique two-step fermentation process; Cherry Republic is featuring the product during April. The vinegar is created from dry cherry wine turned to vinegar & is now available at local retailers. 9&10 News

- ➤ Local artist Jerry Gretzinger's 62-year map, made of over 4,000 collage panels, is on display at the Strongheart Center in northern Michigan and today a UK documentary crew is filming his card-driven process. 9&10 News
- ➤ Traverse City Uncorked runs May 1 to 10, featuring over two dozen events that spotlight local wines at venues across the area. Festival highlights include cooking classes, a wine school, live music, winery tours with owners + a lunch parade and Mother's Day brunch. 9&10 News

- ➤ The Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation received an anonymous gift that raised the Conservation Easement Stewardship Endowment to $670,000 + boosted efforts to protect nearly 225,000 acres of conservation easements in the area. Traverse City Record-Eagle
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Brown Bridge Road was closed on April 27 due to an emergency safety issue at the bridge, restricting river activity on the Boardman River upstream as advised by the Grand Traverse Conservation District. The closure runs between Ranch Rudolph Road and Arbutus Hill Road until further notice — official updates are expected. 9&10 News
- ➤ Local and state leaders toured the Union Street Dam and Fishpass in Traverse City on Monday, April 27 — discussing dam safety and the need for updated measures after recent flooding stressed aging infrastructure.
