- ➤ Cherryland Humane Society is running a fundraiser to cover Bruno’s emergency vet costs after he was stabbed on May 4 and underwent surgery at Bay Area Pet Hospital. Bruno is recovering in foster care (Grand Traverse Animal Control) while donations help pay for his care. UpNorthLive

- ➤ City administrators have begun negotiating a five-year lease for the historic Con Foster building in Traverse City's bayside park (project dubbed Parkway Theatre by Brian Chamberlain); the venue could soon serve as a live performance and arts space. Traverse City Record-Eagle
- ➤ The Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Summit will take place May 14-15 at the City Opera House and Hotel Indigo in downtown Traverse City. The two-day event will feature over 40 sessions, workshops, and performances exploring how arts shape community identity. 9&10 News

- ➤ Traverse City Area Public Schools has begun construction on a new $17.5M indoor fieldhouse covering 125,000 sqft. - ➤ City commissioners approved contracts Monday night for a downtown farmers market pavilion that will create a covered space for the market and a year-round gathering area; Lot B will be rebuilt with Auto Parking and TIF Funds, and construction will begin in July and finish by November.
