- ➤ Friendly Garden Club beautified the Logo Garden for the 100th Cherry Festival by planting over 5,000 flowers on Wednesday morning at Open Space Park. The display will remain until the end of summer weather permitting. UpNorthLive
- ➤ Central United Methodist Church began a $4.2 million renovation at 222 Cass Street this month, adding an elevator, updated sanctuary, and accessible restroom. The project is expected to finish by year's end while services and outreach continue at alternative locations. 9&10 News

- ➤ Joe Du Lac has been named President of Munson Medical Center by Munson Healthcare COO Laura Glenn after a nationwide search. He will take office on June 22 in this leadership transition. Traverse City Record-Eagle

- ➤ Today, a stretch of M-22 in Peshawbestown was named the Company K Memorial Highway — a change after decades of local effort by the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa Chippewa Indians. The designation honors 160 years of service by Native American sharpshooters who fought in key Civil War battles. UpNorthLive
- ➤ Interlochen Center for the Arts has approved demolishing Green Lake Lodge (formerly named after Jeffrey Epstein) as the building no longer reflects its values; demolition is expected to begin soon on campus. 9&10 News

- ➤ Grand Traverse Musicale awarded $29,400 in scholarships to 32 local youth who will perform at Mission Hill Church on June 11. The program will feature two shows starting at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. 9&10 News
- ➤ Governor Whitmer signed a bipartisan relief bill that lets schools in several Northern Michigan counties (including Grand Traverse) waive up to four extra closure days after severe storms disrupted classes. School officials plan to adjust calendars according to the new guidelines. UpNorthLive
- ➤ Minna Danziger, a two-time winner from the Record-Eagle Regional Spelling Bee, was eliminated in Round 4 of the Scripps National Spelling Bee at DAR Constitution Hall Auditorium in Washington D.C. She misspelled trismus. Traverse City Record-Eagle
