- ➤ Traverse City officials bought 528 acres next to Brown Bridge Quiet Area on May 27 for $3,098,445 — the property is closed to the public but will allow trail access within 90 days via existing routes, and a new trailhead will open along Hobbs Highway in spring 2027. Traverse City Record-Eagle

- ➤ Four women were named finalists for the Cherry Queen of the National Cherry Festival — after two days of interviews, a cherry industry speech, a farm tour and team-building activities. Three come from Traverse City and one comes from Kalkaska, as announced Saturday. Traverse City Record-Eagle
