- ➤ Northwestern Michigan College launched a new try-it-out program to help adult learners by matching students with navigators—this program aims to help 2,000 northern Michiganders earn post-graduate degrees or certifications in the next three years. - ➤ The Department of Natural Resources warned that fire risk was high in the Upper Peninsula and northern Lower Peninsula and urged residents to take care with campfires and burning yard debris today into Monday — check online for burn permits, keep a hose nearby, and burn only natural materials — to help prevent sparks.
