ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 61-year-old bicyclist from Hobart, Indiana was found unresponsive on Bunker Hill Road Saturday morning and efforts to resuscitate him failed—the Antrim County Sheriff's Office reported no evidence of a crash just before 10:30 a.m.  Traverse City Record-Eagle

CULTURE NEWS

  • Local artists with disabilities will show creative work at an art exhibit tomorrow from 10 a.m. to noon at Lake Michigan Credit Union US 31 branch in Traverse City+ the show is part of the Art Able Connections program. The event is a partnership between Grand Traverse Industries and the Crooked Tree Arts Center and is free and open to the public+ attendees can meet the artists.  9&10 News

  • Michigan State University Extension is hosting a free webinar series to inform locals about PFAS contamination concerns in Wexford County. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Artificial intelligence will be added to the Grand Traverse County 911 call center pending county board approval today. Central Dispatch plans to sign a three-year contract with Aurelian AI that will use a call taking system to direct non-emergency calls—helping route them to the correct department.  Traverse City Record-Eagle

HEALTH NEWS

  • Dr. Joe Santangelo of Munson Healthcare advises residents to limit indoor heat by reducing activities like baking and keeping lights low while using cool showers, fans, and thin blankets at night to avoid overheating. Local Tyler Cole stays cool outside — he does not like AC and watches for signs like red skin and dizziness as a signal to come indoors.  9&10 News
