- ➤ The Northern Michigan Small Farm Conference will come to Glen Arbor on August 18—19 at The Leelanau School with workshops, farm tours, and keynote speakers, organized by the Crosshatch Center for Art and Ecology. - ➤ On July 4, ICE Detroit arrested 25-year-old Kleiber Siso Balza, a suspected member of Tren De Aragua, in Traverse City + he faces a warrant from Virginia for burglary tools and a pending larceny charge in Florida while three other illegal residents were also arrested. UpNorthLive

- ➤ Traverse City Area Public Schools approved over $3 million to renovate the Sabin Data Center at 2075 Cass Road—this project will house the district’s human resources and business departments. - ➤ Organizers of Swim for Grand Traverse Bay are seeking volunteers for the two-mile open water swim event on Aug. 9 in Suttons Bay to support local water protection efforts. - ➤ Peninsula Township will appeal a judge’s decision awarding nearly $50 million in damages to 11 wineries that challenged township zoning. Township trustees voted 6—0 to ask the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals to reconsider the ruling as residents remain divided on whether the appeal is the best path to a favorable settlement.
