- ➤ Victims of the Traverse City Walmart stabbings on July 26 can get help from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ Division of Victim Services—offering counseling, lost wages, transportation, and other support—for those injured, witnesses, or first responders after 42-year-old Bradford Gille stabbed 11 people. - ➤ City commissioners unanimously approved a mixed-use redevelopment at the old TC Millworks site on Woodmere Avenue — the plan will add three residential buildings, one commercial building, underground parking, and a new boardman lake loop trail connection. - ➤ Representative Jack Bergman sent a letter to Canadian Senator Michael MacDonald urging Canada to improve forest management to reduce wildfire smoke that has affected Northern Michigan for three consecutive summers. - ➤ MDOT will use $1.9 million to upgrade traffic signals, ADA-compliant ramps and road markings at four intersections in Traverse City starting Monday, August 11 and finishing November 15.
