- ➤ Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City held a full-scale fire and emergency exercise that simulated an aircraft accident and lasted 2.5 hours—officials from Grand Traverse County took part to test the airport’s rescue plans. UpNorthLive
- ➤ The Traverse City Fire Department has upgraded its video laryngoscopes to improve airway care as it prepares to become the primary EMS transport provider in July 2026—new devices offer sharper images, greater durability and improved ergonomics for safer emergency responses. 9&10 News
- ➤ Traverse City Light and Power received high marks in a customer survey with nearly 95 percent of residential customers and over 98 percent of commercial users approving the service—survey responses from 391 residential and 107 business users were presented to its board this week. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Officials announced that the Grand Traverse County Health Department lifted the advisory for Clinch Park Beach and Sunset Park Beach after water tests confirmed safe E. coli levels—making the beaches safe for full-body contact. A Level 4 no-body contact advisory remains for Kids Creek and parts of the Boardman/Ottaway River—water samples from August 20 are still being processed and residents should avoid contact.
