- ➤ The Traverse City Philharmonic will begin its concert season in September after a record-breaking summer at the Civic Center Amphitheater and a successful 25th season fundraiser—artistic director Kevin Rhodes said the new schedule will bring renewed energy to concerts and community music classes. - ➤ Traverse City commissioners have split $294,289 in Community Development Block Grant funds to help those without homes—Goodwill Northern Michigan will receive $96,000 for rental vouchers, Jubilee House will receive $55,179 for staffing, and Homestretch Nonprofit Housing will receive $143,110 for its planned affordable apartment building on city Parking Lot O. - ➤ United Way of Northwest Michigan will start Therapy Corps in September to help fill a gap in mental health care for children in Grand Traverse.
