- ➤ Emergency responders rescued a man who fell from a cliff on Mackinac Island after officials said he had only 10 seconds left before letting go—firefighters reached him at 1:57 p.m. and handed him over to EMS, and his condition is stable. UpNorthLive

- ➤ Baker College in Cadillac partners with Michigan SBDC to offer free consulting and training for entrepreneurs across ten northwest counties — a move that will give students real-world business experience. The groups will celebrate the partnership with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 17. UpNorthLive
- ➤ Cherry Capital Airport saw a 23% surge in passengers in July and will launch a major project to add 15 new gates in a permanent terminal expansion scheduled to begin in spring and finish in spring 2028. It will also build a temporary concourse with three gates and start a 350-spot parking lot near Costco next week—steps designed to ease the current crowding. UpNorthLive
