  • The Good Bowl in Traverse City has donated $3,442 to help Better Together, a nonprofit that supports disabled adults in our community—customers and staff pick a new charity every quarter.  9&10 News

  • Preston Feather Building Centers will acquire Boyne City’s Barden Lumber on Oct. 4—merging over 200 years of combined experience to strengthen regional supply chains. The family-owned companies will work together during the transition to support employees and customers.  9&10 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • A Traverse City musician’s work appears in the new paranormal horror film Good Boy, which will open in theaters on Oct. 3— a special screening with a live Q&A with the composer is scheduled for 7 p.m. tomorrow at AMC Cherry Blossom 14.  9&10 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, Grand Traverse County's IT department will seek commissioners' approval to renew a $398,083.80 Microsoft 365 subscription and add 100 Copilot licenses—details will be discussed during the regular board meeting.  Traverse City Record-Eagle

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Housing North launched a new zoning atlas for Northern Michigan that maps zoning rules across ten counties to show where housing choices can grow—mainly in areas that are set for single-family homes. The group will host Zoom workshops on October 6 at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.—and they have finished work in six counties while four will be completed by late 2025 or early 2026.  9&10 News

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Cadillac Vikings beat Traverse City Central in a close five-set match — both teams played hard and kept fans excited.  9&10 News
  • Jacob Plamondon (Glen Lake's dominant center) committed via social media to play basketball at Grand Valley State; he led his team to a record of 23 to 2 and a trip to the regional finals last season.  9&10 News
