- ➤ Old Mission Citizens Coalition (OMCC) has been formed by 11 local residents to preserve Old Mission Peninsula's history and guide its future. The group will work with Peninsula Township, local farmers, and businesses to review and update codes and ordinances that balance growth and heritage. UpNorthLive
- ➤ On October 31, 2025, Crosshatch Center for Art and Ecology purchased the building at 221 N Bridge St. to become the home for its nonprofit meeting place — Mercantile, where local makers, growers and producers will use a retail space and the upstairs apartment will host a new artist residency; the building will also host special winter events with a grand opening planned for spring. - ➤ Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay was named the 2025 Business of the Year by the Leelanau Chamber of Commerce — a recognition for its strong community ties and guest service excellence. - ➤ Traverse City Beer Week will begin Friday, Nov. 7 and continue through Saturday, Nov. 15. Over two dozen local breweries will host craft beer tastings and themed events—visitors can earn prizes and discounts using a mobile passport. 9&10 News
- ➤ Desirae Dine runs Haunted Traverse Tour Company and uses her inherited gift to connect visitors with spirits that linger in Traverse City. Her tour has operated for nine years and offers a unique look at local history—linking the past with the present. Traverse City Record-Eagle
- ➤ The Rebel Eves — a group of Michigan singers including Grace Theisen, Jilian Linklater and Katie Pederson — will start a vinyl-release tour in northern Michigan to promote their first album Rebel Eve and end an exciting 2025. Traverse City Record-Eagle

- ➤ Environmental professionals and business leaders met at the 18th annual Freshwater Summit in Traverse City to discuss challenges facing our Great Lakes. - ➤ Traverse City Fire Department Chief Jim Tuller — who served the city for 36 years and 46 in total — announced he will retire on April 24, 2026. He raised training standards and helped launch a new Advanced Life Support Transport service that will be completed in July. 9&10 News

- ➤ Northern Michigan students from North Ed Career Tech collected funds by moving class to class last Friday to help ease medical debt, and teacher Sara Bernstein said the fundraiser aims to raise $2,500 by May to cancel $250,000 in debt—using fun treats like Beanboozled challenges to attract donations.
