- ➤ Susan Odgers, a Traverse City resident since 1987 who has used a wheelchair for 49 years, faced travel challenges when her husband booked their 40th wedding anniversary trip to Mackinac Island in fall 2022 — a trip that brought back memories from her honeymoon in 1982. She teaches at Northwestern Michigan College and plays leading roles in local and national writing groups, including as a Will Rogers Humanitarian Award recipient. Traverse City Record-Eagle
