- ➤ Northwest Michigan Ballet Theatre will debut The Nutcracker at Traverse City Central High School on Dec. 6 (2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.) and Dec. 7 (2-4 p.m.), featuring Tchaikovsky's score and choreography by Thomas Morrell while providing dance students a professional stage experience. UpNorthLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Almira Township Fire and EMS department in Benzie County has switched to 24-hour staffing to address rising call volume. The team converted its old locker room into sleeping quarters (thanks to donated furniture) so that at least one crew member can stay overnight while daytime staffing remains higher. UpNorthLive
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Today, Michigan Medicare beneficiaries have five days to review their Medicare coverage for 2026. If you are happy with your plan it will roll over, but if your plan was cancelled your window may extend to Dec. 31 (check with your agent for details). Traverse City Record-Eagle
