- ➤ The Traverse City Area Public Schools Board of Education approved a resolution Monday to apply for a Rotary Charities grant that will help create a charitable foundation for vulnerable students — a $20,000 grant will fund a consultant to set up the 501(c)(3) foundation. - ➤ Local governments and partner agencies in Traverse City are working to end chronic homelessness, but a lack of long-term supportive housing is slowing progress — the Northwest Michigan Coalition to End Homelessness has asked the city for up to $1 million a year to fill the gap.
