- ➤ Watco bought Great Lakes Central Railroad on Wednesday and plans to boost service, add new rail customers, and invest in track maintenance on its 386-mile network — which links Ann Arbor to Cadillac, with branches to Middleton, Oakley, Petoskey, Traverse City and Yuma — as operations will begin once the Surface Transportation Board approves. - ➤ Northwestern Michigan College is reviewing plans to best use the Boardman Lake Campus—currently, the 62,000-square-foot building is 55 percent empty after university partners moved out by August 31 and Greenspire High School and several NMC departments remain.
